Liverpool thrashed Porto 4-1 to qualify for the semi-finals of this season’s UEFA Champions League with a 6-1 aggregate scoreline.
Sadio Mane scored Liverpool’s first goal on the 26th minute. Mohamed Salah doubled their lead on the 65th minute. Three minutes later, Militao pulled one back for Porto.
However, Firmino and van Dijk found the net to give the English side a commanding victory. They will face Barcelona, who eliminated another English side, Manchester United, in the semi-finals.
A bigger drama took place at the Etihad Stadium, where City were trailing Tottenham Hotspurs by a lone goal from the first leg.
Raheem Sterling drew the first blood for the home side on the fourth minute, but Son Heung Min continued from where he stopped in the first leg with a brace. Bernado Silva made it 2-2 on the 11th minute.
On the 21st minute Sterling scored again to give City the lead, yet they needed to score again to have an aggregate win, and they did when Aguero scored on the 59th minute.
Llorente scored Spurs third goal of the night. City had to score five goals to qualify. The scored, but the VAR spotted Aguero to be offside.
Manchester crashed out at this stage last season when they lost to Liverpool.
Spurs will now face giant killers, Ajax in the second semi-finals.
