2027: Eni Uche Backs Otti’s Re-election, Cites Performance

Veteran politician and Abia State stakeholder, Chief Eni Uche, has called on political parties and other stakeholders in the state to put the interests of Abia above partisan politics by supporting the re-election of Governor Alex Otti in the 2027 governorship election.

Speaking during an interview, Chief Uche described Governor Otti as the most outstanding governor the state has produced since its creation, attributing his assessment to what he said were the governor’s achievements in office.

He noted that ongoing improvements in infrastructure, healthcare, education, public service reforms, environmental sanitation, and fiscal management have transformed governance in the state and strengthened public confidence in the administration.

According to him, Governor Otti’s performance has redefined governance in Abia, adding that the administration’s commitment to transparency, discipline, and development has earned the trust of many residents.

He argued that governance should be assessed on the basis of results rather than political party affiliation, stressing that leaders who demonstrate capacity and deliver on their promises should be given the opportunity to consolidate on their achievements.

Chief Uche appealed to political actors across party lines to support continuity, insisting that development should take precedence over political interests.

He also expressed optimism that as the 2027 election approaches, many opposition politicians would acknowledge the governor’s performance and focus their campaigns on issues rather than partisan sentiments.

The elder statesman further commended Governor Otti for creating opportunities for younger leaders to participate in governance, describing youth inclusion as critical to the state’s long-term growth and development.

He urged Abians to evaluate all candidates based on competence, integrity, and their track records in public service.

“My appeal is for the people of Abia State to support leaders who have demonstrated capacity, integrity, and commitment to public service. Governor Alex Otti has, in my view, raised the standard of governance in the state, and continuity will enable him to consolidate on the progress already made,” he said.
