Youths from Ugba Community in Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State, have drummed support for the Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chinedum Orji,ahead of the 2023 general elections.
The youths who stormed the streets of Umuahia, were seen singing and dancing and endorsed the Speaker of the Abia Assembly for any position he so desires.
According to them, Rt Hon Chinedum Orji,has made tremendous contributions to the development of Abia and as well, contributed immensely to the welfare of the youth in the state.
They said the Speaker is the only one that can help salvage the situation in the state and also give attention to the plight of the youth.
At the PDP office, the President General of Ugba Youth, Comr Uzuegbu Iheanyi, disclosed that the youths of Ugba community, which is the hometown of the Speaker, decided to rally support for their elder brother, endorsing him for the 2023 elections.
Comr Iheanyi, said the contributions of the speaker to human development, especially on the area of youth empowerment, has earned him the support of the youth come 2023.
The President General further revealed that the youth of Ugba community, took to the streets of Umuahia, to endorse Chinedum Orji for a higher political office, either for the seat of the Governor of the state or the Ikwuano/Umuahia federal constituency seat.

Iheanyi who led the youths, made a passionate appeal to the Speaker, to come out and declare for governorship.
He also stated that Umuahia is relatively peaceful, because the Speaker has invested on the youth, who literally are believed to be behind youth restiveness.However, the Ugba Youth President, appealed to the PDP chairman to give employment to Ugba Sons and daughters into the Party secretariat,since they are the host community.
Also, the National President of Dikeogu Youth Fans Association of Nigeria, Emmanuel Dikeogu Nwoke and the Vice Chairman of Ugba Youth, Hon Ndubuisi Anyanwu,disclosed why the youth endorsed Chinedum Orji for Governor, stating that he is a youth that can represent the youth accordingly, going by his antecedents on youth empowerment among others.
The Abia PDP Chairman, Rt Hon Alwell Asiforo Okere, while addressing the youth who stormed the party secretariat, urged them to go about their match peacefully, promising to pass their message to the Speaker, adding that they did well in recognizing and throwing support for their brother.
The Speaker of the Abia Assembly, Rt Hon Chinedum Orji, while addressing the youths, who later stormed his Umuahia residence, appreciated the youths for coming to show support to him.He said the issue of governorship in the state should be discussed, adding that whatever he is doing,if the interest of the youth is not protected,he will not take it.
