2021 BEST FIFA AWARDS: All The Winners

Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has won the 2021 Best FIFA Men’s Player of the Year. He won the same award last year after scoring 69 goals.

The 33 year old won this award ahead of Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Lionel Messi of Paris Saint Germain.

Recall that Lewandowski broke late Gerd Muller’s 49 year old record for scoring the most Bundesliga goal of a calendar year with 43 goals in only 34 league appearances.

Cristiano Ronaldo won the Special Award for being the men’s international all-time top scorer with 115 goals.

Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel won the Best FIFA Men’s Coach Award for guiding Chelsea to their second Champions League title despite joining the club six months to the final of the most prestigious club competition in the world.

The Puskas Award for the best goal in world football during the year went to Erik Lamela for his breath-taking goal in the North London derby against Arsenal last March. Lamela now plays for Sevilla in Spain.

Edouard Mendi of Senegal and Chelsea won the FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper after enjoying an amazing first season with Chelsea, which saw the club win the UEFA Champions League.

The FIFA Fair Play Award went to Denmark national team and their staff for their swift response that saved the life of Christian Eriksen, who collapsed on the pitch during Euro 2020 game against Finland.

FIFA Fan Award went to Denmark and Finland fans.

In the women’s category, Allexia Puttelas won the Best Women’s Player of the year as Emma Hayes of Chelsea won the FIFA Women’s Coach of the Year after guiding Chelsea Women to domestic treble.

Christiane Endler and Christine Sinclair took home the Best Women Goalkeeper and Special Awards respectively.
