Senator Augustine Okwudiri Akobundu has declared that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar remains the most experienced and competent leader to reposition Nigeria and address the nation’s growing economic and political challenges.
Akobundu made the remark today while addressing journalists after leading a massive mobilization drive in support of Atiku during the ongoing political process.
The senator expressed satisfaction with the large turnout and enthusiasm shown by supporters, describing it as a clear indication that many Nigerians still believe in Atiku’s leadership capacity and vision for the country.
According to him, the overwhelming support goes beyond partisan politics, stressing that it reflects the trust and confidence Nigerians have in Atiku’s ability to unite the country and provide purposeful governance.
He maintained that Nigeria requires a leader with vast administrative experience, economic understanding, and national appeal, qualities he said Atiku has demonstrated over the years.
Akobundu noted that Atiku’s tenure as Vice President under former President Olusegun Obasanjo exposed him to the complexities of governance and national development, adding that he played a key role in coordinating Nigeria’s economic management team during the administration.
The lawmaker further argued that the former Vice President possesses the political maturity and leadership depth needed to restore public confidence, stabilize the economy, and drive sustainable development across the country.
He expressed optimism that Atiku would emerge victorious in the party’s political exercise and ultimately lead Nigeria toward greater progress and national unity.
