Rivers Women Set November 26 for Annual Converge

Women from across Rivers State are expected to gather in Port Harcourt on November 26 for the 2026 Women Converge, an interfaith event aimed at promoting unity, spiritual reflection and prayers for peace and development.

The gathering, organised by the Rivers Women Unite Organization and the Central Planning Committee of the Women Converge, will take place at the Main Bowl of the Alfred Diete-Spiff Civic Centre.

The organisers announced the date in a statement signed by their Communications Officer, Comrade Glory Sunday, and made available to journalists in Port Harcourt on October 29, 2026.

The event, themed, “The Woman in an Evolving World: Her Vision, Voice and Influence,” is expected to attract women from different backgrounds, religious leaders and other participants for prayers, praise, thanksgiving and fellowship.

The programme will feature ministers of God and gospel music artistes, including Rev. Prof. Mosy Madugba of the Ministers’ Prayer Network, Pastor Dr. Eno Jerry Eze of the Women Prayer Network, Minister Preye Odede and Chioma Jesus.

Trade and skills exhibitions, alongside special recognition of individuals who have made notable contributions to society, will also form part of the activities.

According to the organisers, the convergence will provide an opportunity to seek divine intervention for the peace, growth and development of Rivers State, Nigeria and families across the country.

Beyond the event announcement, the women’s organisations also expressed support for efforts to promote political reconciliation in Rivers State, congratulating candidates unveiled by the Rainbow Coalition.

They commended Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Wike, for their roles in fostering peace and reconciliation among political leaders.

The groups reaffirmed their solidarity with Fubara and welcomed moves to restore unity within the political family, expressing hope that the reconciliation would ease political tension and encourage cooperation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
