The Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief Gabriel Onyendilefu and the Honourable commissioner for Special Duties and Joint Projects, Chief John J. Okoro have expressed satisfaction over the catalogue of projects going on in Osisioma LGA.
Speaking separately when they visited Osisioma LGA on a projects inspection, the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief Gabriel Onyendilefu maintained that the reason why the team is in Osisioma LGA is very understandable, and it is for more dividends of democracy for the people of Osisioma LGA and that the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu is determined to deliver more dividends of Democracy and that is why he mandated him and his colleague to make sure that no new project is embarked until old ones are completed.
Chief Onyendilefu also maintained that they are not unaware that the Governor has been releasing funds for projects and that is why they have come to find out how all the funds is been utilize and also find out where and how they can help them to do better. He commended and applauded the new T. C. Chairman whom he described as a Colossus for all that he has been able to achieve so far.
Also making his remarks, the Honourable Commissioner for Special Duties and Joint Projects, Chief John J. Okoro reemphasized that they have come to help the Chairman and the people of Osisioma LGA to succeed, to strengthen the relationship between the Chairman, the people of Osisioma LGA and the Governor and Government of Abia State. Chief Okoro stated that it is a known fact that the Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu can not be in all the LGAs at the same time and that is why he mandated him and his colleague to embark on this inspection cum facts finding mission because he is in a hurry to develop the state to an enviable hight and we are determined to help him achieve all these for the betterment of the people of Osisioma LGA and Abia State in general. The Honourable Commissioner, on behalf of his colleague, Sir Onyendilefu expressed his satisfaction over the developmental strides and measure of the Chairman of Osisioma LGA, Dr. Ikechukwu Nwabeke and his predecessors for maintaining the council headquarters, he expressed joy over the cordial relationship existing between the Chairman and Staffs of the LGA unlike what is in other LGAs and enjoined them to do more in the interest and development of Osisioma LGA.
Speaking earlier while welcoming the Honourable Commissioners and their Entourage, the Chairman of Osisioma LGA, Hon. Dr. Ikechukwu Nwabeke on behalf of his Deputy, Hon. Fine Ahuama thanked Almighty God for granting the team journey mercies, He appreciated the Governor for giving him and his deputy the opportunity to serve the people of Osisioma LGA and for all his supports and approval of projects and funds that has gone a long way in delivering dividends of democracy to his people. Dr. Nwabeke maintained that there is peace, togetherness among the Stakeholders and the the entire People of Osisioma LGA and promised not to disappoint the Governor, the team and also solicits for the support and cooperation of the both ministries to enable him succeed and also complete all ongoing projects in the LGA.
Some of the projects inspected by the team includes,
* Renovation and furnishing of the legislative building.
* On going repenting of the council headquarters.
* Construction of a revenue court.
* Ongoing construction of an ultra modern workers auditorium with offices.
* Ongoing construction of Osisioma motor park.
* Ongoing construction of a modern primary healthcare center at Umumba Umuoru, Osisioma.
* Grading of 9 rural roads in the LGA by the current T. C. Chairman, which includes,
1. Umuimo – Ahia Orie down to the boundary of Okpu road.
2. Umuode by Umuoru road.
3. Amapuife road by Umuojima.
4. Umuokisi Umuodu in Otuobi autonomous community.
5. Amawo by Eze Magnus till Rock waters down to St. John Catholic Church.
6. Aro – Umuotu by Amato Community.
7. Okpuala Umuogowo primary school road.
8 High court road at the back of the council headquarters.
Meanwhile the team will commence inspection in all the LGAs of Abia North tomorrow with a visit to Umunneochi LGA.
