Otti Hails Miracle Ajah’s Legacy of Faithful Service at Presbyterian Church Send-Off.
The Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, has described the outgoing Principal Clerk of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Most Rev. Prof. Miracle Ajah, as an exemplary church leader whose six-year tenure was marked by integrity, visionary leadership, and unwavering commitment to the service of God.
Speaking at the Send-off Thanksgiving Service held at the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria (PCN) Ehere Model Parish, Aba, Governor Otti congratulated Most Rev. Ajah on the successful completion of his tenure from 2020 to 2026, describing the occasion as a celebration of God’s faithfulness and a legacy of selfless service.
The Governor, who was represented by his Deputy, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, said the outgoing Principal Clerk strengthened the administrative structures of the Church, promoted unity, and advanced the mission of evangelism through wisdom, humility, discipline, and sound leadership.
“The true measure of leadership is not the length of time spent in office but the positive impact made on people and institutions. Your remarkable achievements and the lives you have touched have left an enduring legacy in the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria,” Otti stated.
The Governor reaffirmed the Abia State Government’s commitment to sustaining a strong partnership with faith-based organisations, noting that churches remain vital partners in promoting moral values, education, healthcare, peace, and social development.
He commended the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria for its significant contributions to human capital development and nation-building, adding that the state government would continue to provide an enabling environment for faith-based organisations to thrive.
Governor Otti also assured the Church of the continued goodwill of his administration, stressing that collaboration between government and faith-based institutions remains essential to building a prosperous, peaceful, and God-fearing Abia State.
He prayed for God’s continued blessings upon Most Rev. Ajah, wishing him good health, renewed strength, divine wisdom, and greater opportunities for service in the Body of Christ.
In his sermon, the Prelate and Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, His Eminence Ekpenyong Akpanika, reminded Christians and leaders that no earthly position is permanent, stressing that what truly matters is the legacy of faithful service left behind.
Drawing lessons from the life of Nehemiah, the Prelate said effective leadership is built on faithfulness to God, obedience to His commandments, and genuine concern for the people entrusted to one’s care.
He described leadership as service rather than personal gain, noting that greatness is measured by sacrifice and positive impact on humanity.
Akpanika paid glowing tribute to Most Rev. Ajah, commending his steadfast devotion to the Church, sound administration, commitment to peace and unity, and his role in strengthening the administrative system of the General Assembly during his tenure.
He urged Christians and leaders to remain faithful, transparent, and obedient to God, insisting that integrity and service, rather than charisma or personal ambition, define true leadership.
Responding, Most Rev. Prof. Miracle Ajah expressed profound gratitude to Almighty God for His grace, faithfulness, and sustaining power throughout his years of ministry and service.
He also appreciated Governor Alex Otti, represented by Deputy Governor Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, the Prelate and Moderator, members of the General Assembly Executive Committee, ministers, elders, church members, family, friends, donors, and all those who contributed to the successful planning and execution of the thanksgiving and send-off ceremony.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of a 2019/2020 model Toyota Highlander to Most Rev. Ajah in recognition of his meritorious service to the Church.
Dignitaries at the occasion included the President of the Abia State Leadership Academy and immediate past Secretary to the Abia State Government, Prof. Kenneth Kalu, government officials, senior clergymen, traditional rulers, captains of industry, and members of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria.
