NIPR Abia Drives WPRF 2026 Awareness

The Abia State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has stepped up its public engagement campaign for the World Public Relations Forum (WPRF) Abuja 2026, taking the message of the global event to the streets of Umuahia.

The roadshow formed part of a nationwide awareness initiative by NIPR chapters to generate public interest, deepen stakeholder engagement and encourage participation in the forthcoming forum.

Members and supporters of the Abia chapter participated in the exercise despite the rainfall, using the opportunity to engage the public on the significance of WPRF Abuja 2026 and the role of professional public relations in strengthening communication between institutions and their stakeholders.

Chairman of NIPR Abia State Chapter, Onyinye Onwuzuruike Ralph-Nwachukwu, fnipr, said the roadshow demonstrated the chapter’s commitment to taking professional communication beyond conventional platforms and directly engaging the public.

She commended members, partners and supporters for their participation, particularly senior practitioners Chinkwe Ikenyi, Charles Ifenkwe and Uzoma Isiakpu, whose presence she said added strength to the mobilisation.

The exercise attracted the support of professional and institutional stakeholders, including the Society of Nigerian Broadcasters, Abia State Chapter, led by Chinezerem Agbakuru; Abia State Sports Council; and NYSC Abia State among others.

Reflecting on the turnout, Ralph-Nwachukwu described the participation as evidence of the chapter’s strong sense of community and shared professional purpose.

“Today, you showed me again that NIPR Abia is not just a chapter; we are a family,” she said.

She expressed appreciation to members who participated physically and those who supported the initiative through calls, messages and other forms of encouragement.

WPRF Abuja 2026 is expected to provide a platform for public relations and communication professionals, academics, policymakers and other stakeholders from Nigeria and other parts of the world to exchange ideas on contemporary trends and challenges in the profession.
