NIGERIAN PLAYERS SCORECARD

Nigerian players were in action last weekend for their respective clubs in various leagues across the globe. Here are the scorecards of some of them.

FRENCH LEAGUE UNE

Gabriel Osho played all 90 minutes as Auxerre stormed the Orange Velodrome in Marseille and defeated the home side 3-1.

ALGERIAN LEAGUE

Tosin Omoyele scored CS Constantine’s opening goal in their 2-1 victory over Olympique Akbou.

ENGLAND

Calvin Bassey played all 90 minutes as Fulham went, saw and conquered Crystal Palace 2-0. His compatriot, Alex Iwobi assisted the second goal and was substituted in the 89th minute.

Wolverhampton Wanderers won their first match of the season defeating Joe Aribo’s Southampton 2-0. Aribo played for 73 minutes but could not stop the Saints from going down. Paul Onuachu played the last 17 minutes of the game but could not find the net for the Saints.

Joshua Maja scored the winning goal as West Brumwich Albion went saw and conquered Hull City 2-1 at the MKM Stadium in the English Championship.

Rifat Imuran came on in the 50th minute but could not prevent London City Lionesses from losing 1-2 to Birmingham City in the English Women Championship.

Wilfred Ndidi played 70 minutes for Leicester City at the Old Trafford but could not help his side withstand the firepower of Manchester United as the Red Devils hammered the Foxes 3-0.

Ola Aina played full time for Nottingham Forest but could not prevent Newcastle United from taking all three points with a 3-1 victory. Not even the introduction of Taiwo Awoniyi for Elanga in the 88th minutes could change the woeful outing of Forests.

Antionette Payne

Antionette Payne played full time for Everton Ladies in the English Women Super League as they settled for a 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace Ladies.

ITALY

Olamide Adugbe was a second half substitute for Napoli, but were defeated 3-0 by Como in the Serie A Women League.

Brothers were at war when Atalanta hosted Udinese. Maduka Okoye was in goal for Udinese but only succeeded in stopping Ademola Lookman from scoring but could not stop his side from losing 2-1 to Atalanta. Lookman could not score but he got a yellow card in extra-time.

GERMANY

Frank Onyeka

Frank Onyeka played all 90 minutes for Augsburg as they settled for a goalless draw with Hoffenheim in the German Bundesliga.

TURKEY

Funsho Bamgboye replaced Corekci in the 18th minute and scored Hatayspor’s second goal in their 3-1 victory over Gaziantep in the Turkish Super League.

Similarly, David Babajide Akintola scored the second goal for Rizespor as they defeated Trabzonspor 3-1 at the Caykur Didi Stadium. In that same game, Ibrahim Olawoyin put the icing on the cake with the third goal in the 81st minute.

Reigning African Footballer of the Year, Victor Osimhen scored a goal in each half as Galatasaray defeated Samsunspor 3-2.

WALES

In the Walsh Premier League, Osebi Abadaki scored Bala Town’s first equalizer in their game against Cardiff MU in a clash that ended 3-3.

SPAIN

Chrisantus Uche played for 85 minutes but could not stop his club Getafe from losing at home by a lone goal to Girona.
