New PDP chairman assures party of Justice, fair play and Godly administration

 

 

The new chairman of the People’s Democratic Party in Abia state, Rt Hon Allwell Asiforo Okere,has assured the members of the party in the state, fairness, justice,an administration anchored by God, as well as offering a level playing ground for all members.

Rt.Hon Okere who stated this during the inauguration ceremony of the state executive committee of the party, said the PDP umbrella is large to accommodate everyone, calling on those who left the party for one reason or the other to return, as he is going to operate an open door policy, the type that would give every member a fair hearing and a level playing ground.

The party chief said all those who are aggrieved as a result of the outcome of the election, should sheath their sword and join hands with him to sustain the legacies achieved by the party in the past, adding that there is no winner or looser.

While calling for support from party members to help lead the party to victory in coming elections and to sustain the democratic dividends already in place, commended the governor of the state, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu for a peaceful and rancour free congress, the one he described as seemless in nature.

Hon Okere, further praised Governor Ikpeazu for his landmark achievements in the state which has made the PDP a good brand, promising to give his support for the legacies to continue.

Meanwhile, the Outgone Acting chairman of the party, Hon Princewill Onyegbu, commended the new chairman for his godly disposition, saying his type would lead the party well.

While urging the PDP family not to hide their support from the new executive, advised them to toe the path of truth and justice at all times.

According to Hon Onyegbu, the new chairman should carry everybody along,seek the counsel of those that would help his administration as well as avoid  any form of communication gap that could lead to misconception and problem in the party.

He further advised the new leadership to embrace the media in the state, as their reportage contributed to the growth  the party is enjoying today.

In an interview, the State Secretary, Barr David Iroh, who was the past youth leader of the party,  expressed gratitude to God for a successful congress, stressing that he would work with other exco members to push out impunity from the party completely, promising to give his best, as well as build on the legacies bequeathed to them by the past regime.

For the State Woman Leader, Lolo Christy Emenike, said that she is ready to galvanize the women of the state to work assiduously in ensuring more women join the party for the purpose of sustaining victory in coming elections.

Highpoint of the event was the administration of the oath of office and allegiance on the members by Sir Emeka Ezeh on behalf of the National Working Committee.

Among the executive inaugurated were Rt.Hon Allwell Asiforo Okere(chairman),Obinna Nwachukwu(Deputy chairman), Barr David Iroh(Secretary), Prince Ben Okezie( Treasurer), Chief Fabian Nwankwo(Publicity Secretary), Barr Chijioke Nkaro(Legal Adviser), Hon Patrick Onwuka( Youth Leader), Chief Victor Ebere( Organising Secretary), Chief Chinyere Onuoha(Financial Secretary),Chief Gabriel Elendu(Auditor) and Lolo Christy Emenike(Woman Leader).
