MOUAU VC Orders Refund of NELFUND Fees to Students

Students of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU), who paid their school fees before receiving the Federal Government’s Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) will be refunded, Vice Chancellor Prof. Ursula Ngozi Akanwa has said.

Prof. Akanwa announced this during the inauguration and swearing in of the newly elected Students’ Union Government (SUG), where she disclosed that she had directed the University’s Bursar to commence the refund process for affected students.

She said the decision was to ensure that students who paid their fees before the release of the NELFUND loan were not denied the benefit of the scheme.

The Vice Chancellor also urged students to register their courses immediately after resuming for the 2026/2027 academic session, stressing that early registration would help the University begin academic activities without unnecessary delays.
