Mammoth Crowd Storms Umuahia, As PDP Flags Off Campaign

History was recorded in Abia,as a large crowd of people stormed the Umuahia Township Stadium,to witness the PDP campaign flag off.

It was indeed a sight to behold, as  youth, men and women across the seventeen (17) Local Government Areas of the state, defiled the scorching sun to witness the epoch making event which also featured the unveiling of the PDP candidates for the 2023 general elections.
Like the Proverbial saying,”No Place Like Home”,was in its full glare yesterday,as Abia was marked as the home of PDP.
The streets of Umuahia were agog, with PDP supporters trooping out en mass to show solidarity to their preferred candidates. With the great multitude witnessed, one literally would wonder if the much talked about Messiah was in Umuahia for a crusade.Indeed Umuahia was shut down. Of course business activities skyrocketed,as business owners took hold of the crowd to sell their goods and services.
Now,what could have elicited that great number of supporters, could it have a link with the new wave of the G5 Governors, who have been pulling support lately?
Your guess is as good as mine. But believe it or not, PDP has successfully made a statement which simply put that, “Abia is PDP and PDP is Abia”.
I doubt if the experiences of the PDP campaign flag off would leave the minds of Abians soon, especially members of the opposition parties,as they would find it a great deal to beat the record.
Interacting with some Party supporters at the Umuahia Township stadium, they promised to do their best come 2023 to deliver their party in the polls.
According to them,PDP is the only party that Nigeria needs to correct the wrong done at the Federal level,as well as help  Abia to sustain the relative peace and tranquility recorded in the state and also the spate of development.
They, however, canvassed for massive support for the party, urging Abians to disregard the fake promises of the opposition but stay glued to the party that has led them all these years,as a known devil is better than an unknown angel.
Meanwhile,it is pertinent to state that the push of the G5 Governors, is gradually gaining momentum,as the integrity group is seriously bent on changing the trajectory of Nigeria politics.
The G5 PDP Governors are standing on a strong moral pedestal and doing everything to put away impunity and high-handedness in the PDP.

According to them,Nigeria is in a dire straits and hanging on a balance and if the Integrity Governors fail to put their feet forward, it would spell doom for the country.

For the group they are not pursuing their individual comfort but determined to lay a solid foundation for the unborn generation, stressing that they are determined to stand for the truth and as soon as the right thing is done, the PDP would win the election next year.

Similarly, the leader of the G5 PDP Integrity Governors’ Group and Benue State Governor, Governor Samuel Ortom, said the group would not be intimated for standing for the truth, saying that they are still very committed to the PDP and they will not leave the party.

The official flag off of the Party’s campaign was climaxed with the presentation of the PDP Governorship candidate and his Deputy,Prof Uche Ikonne and Barr Philip Igwe respectively,as well as the handing over of the party’s flag to the various candidates.

The event was well attended by the River State Governor, Nyesom Wike, his Enugu state counterpart, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, the former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, among other top political gladiators within nad outside Abia.
