Life-ND Organised Holds Training For Local Government Desk Officers in Abia

 

The Abia State Coordinating Office of Livelihood Improvement Family Enterprise, Niger Delta, LIFE-ND Project, on August 12 2020 organised the training of her Local Government Desk Officers in the 10 selected Local Government Areas where the project activities are currently ongoing in the State.

In a release signed by the state coordinator of Life-ND in Abia , Dr. Uchenna Rowland Onyeizu, and made available to newsmen in Umuahia states that the exercise followed the due selection and interview processes of International Fund for Agricultural Development, IFAD, that engaged the following qualified personnel in each of Local  Government Areas’ Agriculture Department;

1. Amanze Amarachi P. ​​Desk Officer Isiala Ngwa South LGA.

2. Ehibe Ogechi Victoria. Desk Officer ​​Ukwa West LGA.

3. Izimah Nneka Sopuruchi. Desk Officer ​Osisioma LGA​​.

4. Nwichi Chikezie. Desk Officer Isiala Ngwa North LGA​.

5. Aja Ukpai Aja​​​. Desk Officer Ohafia LGA​​.

8. Isinka Victor Chigozie. Desk Officer ​​Ugwunagbo LGA​​.

10. Isiaku E. Onyeforo​​. Desk Officer Umuahia South LGA​.

In line with the provisions LIFE-ND engagement, these personnel shall serve as direct and coordinating links between the selected incubators, incubatees, State Coordinating Office and shall supervise the Project’s agribusiness activities in the benefiting communities of the State.

LIFE-ND remains the creation of Federal Government, participating State governments, International Fund for Agricultural Development, IFAD and Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, with direction to revive rural economy, create employment and enhance sustainable food security for the rural youth and women‐ headed households with children aged less than 15 years through creation of agribusiness enterprises.

In tune with these objectives, the State Government led by our able Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, Ph.D, who in his active responses to Agricultural development programmes of the state, has promptly paid the required counterpart fund that enabled immediate take-off of LIFE-ND Project activities in the state.

The State Project Coordinating Office sincerely appreciates the Governor and appeals to the benefitting LGA Chairmen,  heads of Agric departments of various LGAs to support our Desk officers with basic working space, tools and incentives for effiective coordinations of our activities at your communities.

All benefitting communities are also enjoined to give unhindered access and cooperation to achieving the aims and objectives of the project.

Furthermore, the State Project Coordinating Office will on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 host the inauguration of the initial selected 25 incubators in the State at the Confidence Hotel, No 3 Redeem Bible mission road Mgboko Afaraukwu, off Trinity Road by Uchenna Junction, Aba road.

All participants are expected to be seated in the main hall of the hotel by 10 am.
