International Friendly: Nigeria, Saudi Arabia Settle for a Draw

The Super Eagles of Nigeria came from a goal down to draw 2-2 with Saudi Arabian in an international friendly match played at the Estadio Municipal de Portimao in Portugal.

 

After a goalless first half, the Asians took the lead 15 minutes into the second half through substitute Salman Al-Faraj.

 

Nigeria restored parity through Abdulelah Al-Amri’s own goal and went in front in the 81st minute through Kelechi Iheanacho.

 

Late into extra time, Mohamed Kanno restored parity.

The Super Eagles will take on Mozambique on Monday in another friendly match in Portugal.

 

Yesterday, the draws for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations took place in Abidjan and the Super Eagles of Nigeria were placed in Group A against fellow West Africans, Cote’d’Ivoire, Guinea-Bissau and Equatorial Guinea.
