Frank Lampard Returns to Coaching

Former Chelsea and  England midfielder Frank Lampard has returned to the dugout after Championship club Coventry City appointed him their coach on a two-and-a-half year deal.

The 46 year-old will be facing a daunting task as Coventry are 17th on the Championship table and are two points above relegation places.

This is Lampard’s fifth managerial job having coached Derby County, Everton and Chelsea twice.

Lampard’s appointment is the first new appointment by Coventry’s owner Doug King since he completed his takeover in January 2023.

The former Chelsea manager replaces the long-serving Mark Robins, who was sacked after seven years in charge.

Lampard’s baptism of fire will come this Saturday when the Sky Blues as Coventry City are fondly called will tread tackles with Cardiff City.
