Erosion No More: Abia begins urgent remediation at Atta Emede Ibeku.

 

The State Government has commenced land restoration and remediation exercise at Atta Emede Ibeku erosion gully

Speaking with our Correspondent, at the site, the General Manager, Umuahia Capital Development Authority (UCDA), Mr Kingsley Agomoh, said the Governor, Dr Alex Otti,tti recognises the urgency of the gully and the danger it poses to the people of Emede Ibeku, hence immediate mobilisation for the remediation exercise

Mr Agomoh said though the erosion started many years ago before the coming on board of the present administration,noting that the immediate action taken on the erosion demonstrates the willingness of the Dr Alex Otti-led administration to hearken to the yearnings of the people.

The UCDA General Manager advised the people of Atta Emede to cooperate with the engineers on the site to enable them deliver the project on schedule

Reacting to the development in an interview, the residents of Atta Emede Ibeku, including
Chief Isaac Iheukwumere
Mrs Ngozi Emenike and Mr Sunday Emole, who could not hide his joy expression gratitude to Governor Dr Alex Otti for his quick intervention on the gully, which has cut off their roads and is threatening lives and property

They described Governor Dr Otti as willing and determined to provide quality leadership to Abians and assured him of the support of the people of Emede ibeku
