Enugu 2023: APGA Guber Candidate Takes Campaign To Nsukka, Promises People Oriented Leadership

ENUGU–The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) governorship candidate in Enugu State, Mr. Frank Nweke Jr, has promised the people of Nsukka that his administration will usher in a leadership that is driven by vision, transparent, God-fearing and people-oriented if elected governor in 2023.

Nweke gave the assurance during a town hall meeting at Nsukka Civic Center, Obachara Nsukka.

The APGA governorship-hopeful said with functional infrastructure, and right policies, investors would be attracted to invest in their money in the State and provide jobs for teeming unemployed youths.

He said that his government will also stop diversion of local government funds, adding that he would ensure that only competent, visionary and honest individuals were allowed to run the local government.

While assuring the people that his government will make provision of basic amenities a priority, Nweke regretted the bad state of roads in the area and the entire state.

He also decried lack of water across the state promising to tackle perennial water scarcity in the state.

“For our roads, we are clear on how to approach the rehabilitation and construction of roads in the State through a Strategic Road Construction and Rehabilitation Programme.

“Water availability and good access roads are also critical to economic growth as well as personal comfort and we already have plans to revive the Adada water scheme with a water distribution plan to serve towns and cities in Enugu North, while designing new water supply systems with existing water bodies in different communities.”

Listing the woes that the people have faced under the leadership of the PDP-led government in Enugu State over the years, Hon Uchenna Ugwuanyi, APGA House of Assembly candidate for Nsukka West, said that Igbos were being marginalized in Nigeria, adding that the people need a political force like APGA to get what belongs to them.

He pointed out that there were no functional rail lines in Igbo land unlike in other regions of the country adding that such can only be redressed by voting in Nweke and other APGA candidates.

On his part, Hon Emeka Agbala, APGA House of Assembly candidate for Nsukka East, told the people that a vote for Frank Nweke Jr is a vote for him.

He said that the aspiration of the APGA governorship candidate is to fix the place and not short change the poor masses like the current ruling party in Enugu State.

Other residents such as Elder Emmanuel Obeta; a woman leader, Mrs. Lebechi Onah; youth leaders, Comrade Joseph Ejike and Jacinta Onyekelu listed bad roads, lack of water, lack of electricity, insecurity and unemployment after years of formal education, amongst others as the problems they currently face.
