Eid-El-Fitr: Gov Otti Felicitates Muslim Community, Pledges Inclusivity & Support

 

Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti has felicitated with Muslims in the state on the occasion of Eid-El-fitr celebration, describing the muslim Community as integral part of his administration.

 

Governor Otti stated this when he received a delegation of the Abia State Muslim council who paid him the traditional Salah homage in his country home, Nvosi in Isiala Ngwa South LGA.

The Governor urged Muslims to embrace the spirit of generosity by reaching out to the less privileged during this festive period.

 

He commended them for their dedication throughout the Ramadan fast, highlighting the significance of self-denial as a means to spiritual growth.

 

Governor Otti who expressed gratitude to the Muslim community for the support received during the last governorship election, reaffirmed his commitment to fostering unity and equality among all citizens of Abia State.

The Governor who assured the Muslim community in the state that his government will not discriminate against them, said he will continue to relate with them as brothers and sisters and sisters.

He promised to continue to make the Muslim community and the people of the state proud through quality leadership and assured of his administration’s dedication to addressing their concerns as well as to investigate complaints brought to his attention.

 

In an address, the Chief Imam of Abia state,Sheik Ali Ukiwo said the 30 days fasting is an exercise through which muslims embark on to seek for forgiveness from Allah and amend their ways thereafter.

He thanked Allah for using Governor Alex Otti to Institute peace and security in Abia and for restoring hope to Ndi-Abia through purposeful leadership.

Sheik Ukiwo used the forum to address an issue of injustice done to them by the past administration concerning the reallocation of land allocated to the Muslim community in Umuahia ten years ago for burial grounds.

He expressed regret over the lack of notice or refund regarding the reallocation, and emphasized the importance of rectifying the situation.

 

“We give thanks to Almighty Allah for answering our prayers, because right now peace and serenity are being enjoyed in Abia state.

 

“We also thank Allah the Almighty for using you to bring back hope to Abians after losing such hope for over 20 years.
