Condolence Visit: NDDC Sympathizes with Gov. Umo Uno Over Wife’s Demise

Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Dr Samuel Ogbuku, has paid a condolence visit to the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom state, recently, at his home town in Ikot Ekpene Udo, Nsit Ubium Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, to commiserate with him and family over the death of his wife, the First Lady of the state, Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno.

NDDC Boss who described her death as a collective loss for the community, village, and the entire Niger Delta region, noted that the commission visited to encourage and let him know that they are with him in this moment of grief; adding that the news of his wife’s passing came as a shock to them, and they decided to come today to show their support and solidarity.

He, in the same vein extended the good wishes of the Chairman of the NDDC Governing Board of the commission, Mr. Chiedu Ebie, who could not attend in person, while explaining that the visit was also a demonstration of the commission’s commitment to standing with the people of the Niger Delta in times of joy and sorrow.

In attendance was the Executive Director, Projects, Sir Victor Antai; the member representing Akwa Ibom State on the NDDC Board, Pastor Abasiandikan Nkono and other Commission’s Directors, others.

According to Ogbuku: “The Commission remains dedicated to its mandate of promoting sustainable development and improving the quality of life for the people of the Niger Delta region.”

On his own part, Governor Umo Eno commended the MD and his entourage for remembering him and his family as they mourned the loss of their wife and mother.

“It makes a strong and significant statement to me.”
*Thank you for considering it necessary to visit. It shows how you value and hold us in high esteem.  I and the state’s people really appreciate and thank you for coming,” he lauded.

Furthermore, Governor Eno, reiterated his commitment to partnering with the NDDC on projects and infrastructure that would benefit the people of Akwa Ibom State. He thanked the management team and promised the next visit would be joyous rather than condolence.
