Civil, Public Servants Urged to Embrace Transformation Agenda

Abia Head of Service, Mr. Benson Ojeikere, has charged civil and public servants in the state to adopt a positive mindset in changing the narrative of the service.

Mr. Ojeikere, who gave the charge during a meeting with the permanent secretaries and senior management staff of the Office of the Head of Service, stressed the importance of their role in redeeming the image of the service and restoring its dignity.

Mr. Ojeikere, who disclosed that the present administration, led by Dr. Alex Otti, has a zero-tolerance policy for corruption, urged them to eliminate all forms of fraud in the discharge of their duties.

The Head of Service assured the workforce that their welfare is a top priority, adding that the present administration is committed to providing regular training and retraining for effective service delivery.

Mr. Ojeikere, while stressing the need for collaboration with stakeholders to achieve the desired goals, noted that the transformation agenda will help reposition the service to deliver on its mandate and become a model for other states and countries. He enjoined the staff to be pacesetters in the transformation agenda.

Present at the session were Permanent Secretaries, Lady Meg Kalu Onwu and Barrister Ada Ukandu.
