The Minister representing Abia State at the Federal Executive Council, Chief Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh, has called for strengthening internal democracy and maintaining lasting peace within the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Abia. Ikoh, who is a peace ambassador and a loyal party man, has to this end, appealed for restraint among Abia Apc leaders and members. He admonished that political bickering and sleaze allegations and counter allegations are not healthy for the party as the 2023 general election draws nearer.
Against this backdrop, he reiterated his advocacy that it is only when Abia APC conquers the government house in Umuahia that members can share the dividends of democracy and by extension touch humanity and our constituents.
As a man of peace, the minister is pleading with every member of our great party to sheath their sword and work for the success of the party. He reminded the party faithfuls, that as a man who has contested elections in the past, at no time did he try to destroy the party because he was not successful. He encourage members to imbibe the spirit of giving and taking as a guiding principle.
To demonstrate his resolve for lasting peace, the Minister will from tomorrow embark on visitation to leaders in Abuja before a scheduled all-inclusive Abia APC stakeholders meeting coming up a few weeks from now, back in Abia State. Members are, therefore, encouraged to look out for the invitation.
