CAF CONFEDERATION CUP: Al Masry Maul Enyimba

The People’s Elephant, Enyimba International of Aba commenced their group stage campaign in this season’s CAF Confederation Cup with a 2-0 defeat to Egyptian side Al Masry at the Suez Canal Stadium in Ismaillia, Egypt.

Mahmoud Hamada scored a goal in each half to give the home side all the three points in the first match of their Group D encounter.

The 30 year old mid-fielder opened scoring in the fifth minute and doubled their lead 16 minutes from time.

The Nigerian side had nine shots and only three was on target.

The group’s other match is currently goalless between Zamalek and Black Bulls.

This result has placed the 2002 and 2003 CAF Champions League winners in a difficult situation; requiring  they win their next match against Zamalek of Egypt on December 8 to bounce back to reckoning.
