Bayelsa Gov, Diri Commiserates With Wigwe’s Family

Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, said, he is still shock with the sudden death of the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Access Bank Plc, Mr. Herbert Wigwe who died on helicopter crash.

Governor Diri in a condolence statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Daniel Alabrah, described Wigwe as a dear friend and brother, who understood what friendship and brotherhood is all about. His demise is a great loss to me, because he is more like a brother to me.

Governor Diri noted that the banker and businessman carved a niche for touching lives and bringing dreams to reality. He impacted Bayelsa youths positively by partnering with the government to organise the maiden edition of the state’s sports festival in 2023, noting that his life of philanthropy was exemplary. His demise will affect those whose dreams and aspirations were connected to him.

He prayed that God should console the bereaved families, as well as the management and staff of Access Bank Plc.
