Analyst Urges Parents to Prioritise Godly Child Upbringing

A social analyst, Mr. Collins Onyekwere, has urged parents to prioritise proper child upbringing, describing it as one of the greatest legacies they can leave for their children and a source of pride for every family.

Speaking in a telephone interview with our correspondent in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Onyekwere said parents should raise their children in the fear of God, noting that sound moral and spiritual values help shape responsible and disciplined adults.

According to him, children who receive proper guidance at home are more likely to be respectful, responsible and positively accepted in society, bringing honour to their families.

He also encouraged fathers to play active roles in raising their children instead of leaving the responsibility solely to mothers, stressing that effective parenting requires the commitment of both parents.

Onyekwere expressed the opinion that children generally benefit from the active involvement of both parents in their upbringing, while acknowledging that families may face different circumstances.

Also speaking, Christian Obiako described child upbringing as a deliberate responsibility that requires commitment, patience and God’s guidance. He said parents have a significant role in shaping the character and future of their children through positive values, discipline and consistent moral instruction.

The speakers urged parents to remain committed to raising children with integrity, respect and a sense of responsibility for the benefit of society.
