The winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Abia South Senatorial District primary election, Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr, has expressed gratitude to party leaders, delegates, stakeholders, and supporters across the district for the overwhelming support that secured his victory in the exercise.
Fielding questions from journalists in Umuahia after his emergence, the lawmaker representing Obingwa-West State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly described the exercise as a credible election and a collective victory for the APC and the people of Abia South.

The former Chairman, Obingwa Local Government Area thanked Almighty God and appreciated youths, women, and party faithfuls for the confidence reposed in him through their massive votes across the six local government areas of the district.
Erondu Jnr also commended his fellow aspirants; Dr. Nyerere Chinenye Anyim, Prince Paul Ikonne, and Hon. Blessing Nwagba, for participating in the democratic process, while calling for unity among party members ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He assured party faithfuls of his commitment to effective representation, inclusive leadership, and the development of Abia South Senatorial District, pledging to work with all stakeholders to strengthen the APC and ensure victory for the party in the forthcoming election.
The APC Abia South Senatorial District primary election was concluded on Sunday at the party’s Collation Centre in Aba, where the Collation Officer, Prof. Emmanuel Kalu Agbaeze, officially declared Erondu Jnr winner after the collation of results from the six local government areas in the district.
According to the results announced, Erondu Jnr emerged victorious with a total of 16,640 votes to defeat his closest rivals, Dr. Nyerere Chinenye Anyim, who scored 5,206 votes, Prince Paul Ikonne with 4,099 votes, and Hon. Blessing Nwagba, who secured 4,456 votes.
A breakdown of the results showed that Erondu Jnr polled 1,840 votes in Aba North LGA, 2,629 votes in Aba South, 3,612 votes in Obingwa, 1,836 votes in Ukwa East, 3,675 votes in Ukwa West, and 3,022 votes in Ugwunagbo LGA.
Reacting to the outcome of the primary election, elder statesman Elder Godwin Nnah and Hon. Maduka Akpulonu congratulated Erondu Jnr on his victory, describing his emergence as well deserved.
The duo expressed confidence in his ability to provide quality representation and strengthen the fortunes of the APC in Abia South ahead of the general election.
