Abia First Lady, Mrs Ikpeazu Celebrates With Abia Children on Children’s Day.

Drama, dance, and cultural displays are the rendition of the day as the wife of Abia State Governor Mrs. Nkechi Ikpeazu marks the children’s day for Abia children.

The event which took place at the Michael Okpara Auditorium in Umuahia was a one of its kinds to show love to Abia children and indeed to ensure that none is left out in this administration led by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.

As part of activities to kick start the second term of the administration the Governor’s wife said that children are special gift from God and should not be neglected.

According to her, “children’s day is a day set aside to remember and celebrate our children and we the parents have the mandate from God to care and train them to be morally sound”.

The Abia First Lady also disclosed that Governor Ikpeazu has a better plan and he is aware that Abia children have been constantly leading in external examinations and encourage them to keep it up but most importantly listen and obey your parents, she said.

Chairman on the occasion, Dr. Elizabeth Esochaghi, recur the children’s memory to the knowledge of the old rhymes, maintaining that the more we are together, the happier we shall be.

She encourage the children to make new friends and keep their old ones.

In her remarks, the State Coordinator, National Directorate of Employment, Lady Buchi Ojeh said that she has seen talented children in various arts and thanked the Governor’s wife for showing concern and making out time to celebrate with Abia children.

However in a goodwill message, the wife of the member representing Ikwuano /Umuahia Federal Constituency, Mrs. Chinyere Onuigbo, said that this is a moment to show children love, no matter what you give to a child without love that child may not thrive.

She added that what the wife of the Governor has done today is to bring us back to the memory lane how special it is to be a parent and at the same time advised the children to be obedient to their parents.

Meanwhile, the significance of the event came from the drama played by the  Adventist Technical college Foundation School Owerrinta called “Wazobia”.

In the drama they portrays the richness of Nigeria resources, it’s strength in diversity and its leadership flaws and how ethnic and religious bigots are dividing and destroying the country but maintained in the drama that if all should come together despite our differences that Nigeria will be great again.
