Southampton Manager fired

Forty-eight hours after securing a 2-2 draw with Manchester United, Southampton manager Mark Hughes have been shown the exit door just after eight months in charge.

The Saints as Southampton is fondly called are languishing eighteenth on the league table with only one win after 14 matches, six draws and seven defeats.

Hughes, who joined Southampton in March, two months after he was sacked by Stoke City, was in charge of 22 matches with Southampton, winning only three matches, drawing eight and losing eleven. Southampton scored 572goals and conceded 643 goals.

Southampton are already searching for a replacement but, first team assistant manager Kelvin Davis will oversee Wednesday’s match against Tottenham Hotspurs.
