SSG Commends lbeku Egwu Asaa For Support, Applauds Security Summit initiative.

 

The Secretary to the Abia State Government, Dr. Emmanuel Meribole, has lauded the people of Ibeku Egwu Asaa for their unwavering support for the present administration in the State.

Dr. Meribole gave the commendation when he received a delegation of Ibeku Egwu Asaa, led by Chief. Lawrence Odoemelam, on a solidarity visit to his office. He expressed profound appreciation for their show of loyalty and unity, noting that such gestures serve as encouragement to the government to remain steadfast in delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.

The SSG described the community’s plan to organize a security summit as a step in the right direction, especially at a time when strengthening peace and security at the grassroots remains paramount. He assured the delegation that their requests would be forwarded to the appropriate authorities for necessary consideration and action.

Dr. Meribole also used the opportunity to call on youths across the State, particularly those from Ibeku, to embrace skill acquisition programmes and remain committed to their academic pursuits in order to secure a brighter and more productive future.

Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Chief Lawrence Odoemelam, stated that the visit was to formally congratulate Dr. Meribole on his appointment and to reaffirm the support of the Nkata people for his office.

He expressed appreciation to the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, for the confidence reposed in Dr. Meribole, expressing optimism that the SSG would continue to support the Governor in moving the State to greater heights.

Mr. Odoemelam also commended the Governor for the ongoing renovation of roads in Nkata and assured the government of the readiness of Ibeku indigenes to collaborate in securing lives and property in the area. He further informed the SSG of the community’s intention to host a security summit in the near future.
