2025 Will Be a Year of All-Round Achievement – Gov. Fubara

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has made a bold promise that his administration will not be deterred from delivering good governance to the people of the state. He made this promise during the 2025 New Year State Banquet in Port Harcourt, emphasizing that no individual or group will be allowed to disrupt the state’s progress.

 

Governor Fubara expressed gratitude to the state’s leaders, including former governors Peter Odili and Celestine Omehia, for their unwavering support. He also acknowledged the contributions of other notable figures, such as Senators John Azuta-Mbata and Lee Maeba, and former Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Sir Austin Opara.

 

The Governor highlighted his administration’s achievements in 2024 despite the challenges faced and vowed to build on those gains in 2025. The Governor also emphasized the importance of education in combating criminality and crime among youths. He acknowledged that the state’s education sector is lagging behind, with primary schools in a deplorable state. However, he assured that his administration is committed to giving education the required attention, as evident in the provisions made in the state’s budget.

In the health sector, Governor Fubara noted that while significant progress has been made, more investments will be channeled into the sector to ensure that citizens are healthy and able to work. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to doing what is right and making decisions that will stand the test of time and assured that his administration will prioritize these areas.

 

Governor Fubara highlighted the progress made in revamping the state’s Fire Service, which had been non-functional for over nine years. He proudly announced that his administration has acquired new vehicles and is remodeling the offices.

Governor Fubara also commended the Rivers State House of Assembly, led by Speaker Rt. Hon. Victor Oko-Jumbo, for their cooperation and support. He expressed confidence that with the collective effort of the government and the people, Rivers State will continue to thrive and make progress.

 

He assured that 2025 will be a year of all-round achievements, with a focus on projects’ commissioning in various sectors beyond road construction.

 

In his remarks, the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Tammy Danagogo, praised Governor Fubara for his focused leadership, which has enabled the state to overcome distractions and achieve its goals. Member representing Andoni-Opobo/Nkoro Federal Constituency, Hon. Awaji-Inombek Abiante, also commended the Governor’s leadership qualities and prayed for the state’s peace, unity, and prosperity.
