Gov Otti Honors Late Chief Anokwuru’s Legacy Of Service At Funeral

 

The remains of Chief Monday Anokwuru, has been laid to rest at his country home in Ngodo Autonomous Community, Umunwanwa, Umuahia South Local Government Area.

 

Aged 82, the Late Chief Anokwuru is survived by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Policies and Interventions, Rev Dr. Christian Anokwuru among other relations.

 

Speaking at a Funeral Service in his honor at Saints Andrew and Charles Catholic Church, Umunwanwa, the Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, who commiserated with the Anokwuru family over the demise of their Patriarch, urged them to draw solace from the hope of Eternal life.

 

 

The Governor described the late Chief Anokwuru as a man who lived an exemplary life of service to God and humanity, urged the family to uphold the legacies of their patriarch.

He commended the late Chief Anokwuru for
dedicating his life to the service of God, noting that the deceased lived a life prepared for eternity through his devotion to God.

 

Governor Otti therefore encouraged Christians to live a good life while on earth and leave behind meaningful legacies for which they would be remembered.

 

 

The Governor used the opportunity to announce plans to renovate the Saints Andrew and Charles Catholic Church Umunwanwa and acknowledging Rev. Fr. Anokwuru’s steadfast support throughout his political career.

 

He reassured the people of Abia State of his administration’s commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy as well as foster development in all parts of the state.

Earlier, the Chief Mourner and Special Adviser to the Governor on Policies and Interventions, Rev Fr Christian Anokwuru described their late father as a committed Christian who gave his life to the service of God and the Community , noting that the deceased served Umunwanwa Community Council for 12-years.

 

Rev Anokwuru who recounted the life and times of his late father, said that that despite his meager resources, his late father gave them the best attention.

 

 

He thanked Governor Otti, the entire State Executive Council and all those who stood in solidarity with the family through out their period of grief.

The burial was attended by the Wife of the Governor,Mrs Priscilla Otti, the Deputy Governor Chief Ikechukwu Emetu and wife, Deputy Speaker Abia State House of Assembly among other top Government Officials.
