Abia Govt Assures Greater Partnership With TUC

 

The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Okey Ahaiwe has assured of a more robost partnership between the Abia State Government and the leadership of Labour Unions in the State.

 

The Chief of Staff gave the assurance while receiving in audience a delegation of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) Abia State Chapter led by its Chairman, Comrade Ihechi Eṅeogwe.

 

He noted that Labour and the State government have enjoyed cordial relationship over the years and assured that the partnership would get even better.

Chief Ahaiwe said despite the down turn in the nation’s economy, the State government has carried the Labour Unions along and assured them that government would participate actively at the forthcoming 2022 Workers’ Day Celebration.

 

Earlier, the leader of the delegation and Chairman, Trade Union Congress (TUC), Abia State Chapter, Comrade Ihechi Eṅeogwe said the Labour leaders came to congratulate him on his appointment as the Chief of Staff to the Governor and expressed  hope that his appointment would bring about a more robust relationship between the Labour and the government.

 

 

He used the opportunity to invite the Chief of Staff to the Governor to the 2022 Workers’ Day celebrations taking place on 1st May, 2022.

 

 

Also speaking, the immediate past TUC State Chairman, Comrade Sunny Onwunwa solicited greater partnership between the government and labour in the State, stressing that the Labour is not an enemy of government.
