A former Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hon Ukachi Amala, has assured the people of Osisiomangwa state constituency that if she is elected as a legislator, she would run an inclusive government and as well, make laws that would benefit the people,as well as ensure the House has a balanced representation.
Ukachi Amala who stated this while purchasing her Nomination/Expression of Interest form at the PDP secretariat, Umuahia, said she is contesting for the Osisioma Ngwa South State Constituency to bring positive development to the area,as well as champion laws that would enable companies take social responsibility that will add value to the people.
She said Osisioma which is an urban area, has alot of opportunities and as such,youths of the area do not need to be looking for what to do, when the opportunities abound, adding that she is going into the State House to make laws that would bring progress and development to the people, as well as,attract the dividend of democracy.She said even though past legislators gave their best,she is going to surpass pass records.
The former commissioner further stated that she is going to the House of Assembly to give the House a balanced gender representation,where the men and women would be involved in legislative processes, as against the present Assembly that consists of only male legislators.
“It is not going to be business as usual,am ready to represent the women,the youth,the men and the elderly. Make laws that will bring development,as well as boost the resources of Osisioma constituents.As a woman, i am fit to slug it out with other contestants.
“The women and the girl child will live a better life if am elected,also the youths will be gainly employed and trained on different skills.We will do this through making contacts with individuals in the state that can help salvage the situation”,she said.
Mrs Amala, however, called for the support of the people, promising to give her best.
