Newly sworn in commissioners in Abia state have assured Abians of their best performance,while appreciating the Governor for giveing them the opportunity to serve ndi Abia.
According to them, they will not defeat the confidence reposed on them but contribute immensely to the developmental drive of the State Governor.
In an interview with newsmen, the newly sworn in Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Barr Eze Chikamnayo, promised to consolidate on the achievements of the past Commissioner for Information, as well as, thrive to project the image of the Government and his projects in a right dimension.
He, however, called for the support of Abians, particularly the management and staff of the Information Ministry to achieve the task ahead.
Hon Christopher Enweremadu who was sworn in as the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, said he would key into the programs of the Governor and his agenda, commending all Abians who have given support to the Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s led administration, urging them to continue.
Hon Ugochukwu Emezue, the new Commissioner for Documentation and Strategy, promised to bring to bear his intellectual capacity, which he said is his great strength and as well, ensure the policies and programmes of the Government are well documented and projected.
While the Commissioner for Inter-Government Affairs, Prince Obinna Okey, revealed that Abians should expect alot from him,”As a vibrant young man,i will give hope to the youths. I will be the eye of the government in Ikwuano Local Government Area”.
Also, the Commissioners for Sports, Science and Technology, Establishment and Training, Karibe Ojigwe, Okezie Erondu and Chidiebere Uwagwu Kalu respectively, thanked the Governor over their appointments, assured Abians of good service,as they will help carry out the policies of the government,as well,add value to governance in Abia state.
For the Commissioner for Boundary Matters,who happens to be the first commissioner from his Itumbuzo area,Godwin Ndom, stated that he would stand for justice at all times and ensure what belongs to Abia Comes to Abia, describing the Governor of the state as a jinx breaker who looked beyond the usual selection to bring in an Itumbuzo indigene into his cabinet.He further promised to ensure Abia gets justice at all times.
The Commissioner for Industry Promotion and Development, Mrs Uwaoma Olewengwa, said she would consolidate on what she started few years ago to reposition the Industry ministry.
The Commissioner For Agriculture, Prof Ikechi Mgbeoji who returned as the commissioner of the Agric ministry for the second time, said he would not introduce any fresh programme but will ensure the ones started two years ago be completed, urging Abians to embrace Agriculture, as that is the only panacea to the current hardship people are facing.
