MOUAU Swears In SUG Officials

The Vice-Chancellor, Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU), Prof. Maduebibisi Ofo Iwe has reiterated his administration zero tolerance to any form of immorality or corruption.
Prof. Iwe who disclosed this during the swearing in of newly elected officials of Students’ Union Government (SUG), charged the in SUG officials to be transparent, diligent and law-abiding in the discharge of their duties.
He said, “We (this administration), have zero tolerance to immorality, corruption, among other social vices in the institution”.

He disclosed that University shuttle services that was suspended in the past administration would commence work soon adding that students would only have to pay N4,000 to enjoy the services for an academic session.
Recall that in a press briefing to mark his first 100 days in office, the vice-chancellor, assured students that shuttle services within and outside the campus would start at the beginning of the 2020/2021 session, following his resolution of a five-year trade dispute between the University and one of its contractors, Aoen Consults Ltd.
The new SUG President, Comrade Chukwuma Ogochukwu, asserted that his administration would prioritize students welfare, stressing that he is open to fresh ideas that would foster peace and unity among the students.
Ogochukwu thanked Prof. Iwe’s-led administration for its resolve towards a hitch-free election.
He further applauded him for his innovation in introducing electronic voting for the first time in the history of the institution, which greatly boosted the integrity of the electioneering process.
Earlier in her address, the out-gone SUG President, Comrade Chinenye Mildred Uchechukwu, had reeled out the achievements of her administration in a short period of time and thanked the university management for its support.
Highlight of the event was the swearing in oath administered by His Worship, Emmanuel Etiaba, to the SUG officials.
