Newly Appointees charged to be Apostles of Goodwill

 

The Umuahia North Transition Committee Chairman, Hon Lucky Akabuike, has charged the newly sworn in Supervisory Councillors of the Local Government Area, to above all things, throw support for the administration of Dr Okezie Ikpeazu.

Hon Akabuike who dropped this during the swearing in ceremony of Supervisory councillors in the council Headquarters, charged the councillors not to disappoint the confidence reposed on them, but preach at all times, the feats recorded by the Okezie Ikpeazu’ s administration.

According to Hon Akabuike, it would be a misnomer, if you keep quiet when matters that concern the state and government are being misconstrued.

He advised them to always hold brief for the governor, be the eye of the government,wherever they go and ensure people get better understanding about the policies and programs of the Governor.

The Council boss told the newly sworn in supervisory councillors, to see the appointment as a call to serve and not to make money, adding that the success of the state, as well as the Umuahia North Council should be their pursuit.

While urging them to remain appreciative of the governor’s gesture, pleaded them to give their best for the repositioning of the Local Government Area, as well as the state, promising to provide a conducive environment for their work to thrive.

In a vote of thanks, Onugha Eze Anochie on behalf of his newly sworn in collegues,promised not to be found wanting in the discharge of their duties, pledging to work in unity to lift the party, as well as the government to a next level.

Highpoint of the event was the administering of the Oath of Office/Allegiance by the Head of Service Umuahia North and the distribution of Portfolios.

Ugochukwu Offor emerged as the Supervisory Councillor for Finance, Ogbonnaya Vincent Ibeh- Public Health, Eze Ariwa Mature- Education, Dickson Ogu- Works and Transport while Onugha Eze Anochie came as the supervisory councillor for Social Welfare,Youths and Sports.
