Isiala Ngwa South Staff Welfare honours Anyatonwu, Ginger, Onyendilefu, others

The immediate past Transition Committee Chairman of Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area, Comrade Ike Anyatonwu, has been honoured as the “Most Workers’ Friendly Chairman, 2019” by the Staff Welfare Association of Isiala Ngwa South Local Government, Abia State.
The award was given to him during the inaugural lecture and get-together/launching of the constitution of the association, held at the council headquarters, Omoba.
Other awardees include the member, representing Isiala Ngwa North State Constituency, Okenze Ginger Onwusibe, who received award as Best Performed Executive Chairman in Abia state, 2016-2018, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Sir Gabriel Chinenye Onyendilefu awarded friend of workers and Hon Rowland Chinwendu Ceasar, who was honoured as Most Performed Deputy Transition Committee Chairman, 2019.
Speaking while presenting the award on Comrade Anyatonwu, the Council’s Head of Service, Chief Monday Ugorji, assisted by the Chairman of the Staff Welfare Association, Comrade Onwuegbuaha Prince and the association’s secretary, Comrade Enyioko Chinwendu, said the award was in recognition of the outstanding leadership performance of Comrade Anyatonwu, when he held sway as the TC Chairman of the council.
Chief Ugorji described Comrade Anyatonwu as a notable son of Isiala Ngwa South, whose contribution to the development of the council and Abia State cannot be overemphasized.
He thanked God for saving the life of the immediate past council boss from a ghastly motor accident recently.
The Staff Welfare Association commended Comrade Anyatonwu for his modest achievements in office, adding that the award was their little way of appreciating him.
Responding, after receiving the award, Comrade Anyatonwu, represented by his Chief of Staff, Mrs. Adaku Pat-Nnaji, thanked the association for recognizing his achievements through the award.
He enumerated some of his achievements in office to include, instituting the Isiala Ngwa South Mass Transit Scheme, distribution of official cars to the council Head of Service and Treasurer, training of youths on solar installation and maintenance, training of the council women on agribusiness & value chain and training of over 100 youths of Isiala Ngwa South on piggery, among others.
