2027: ACC Insists On Igbo Presidency, Inaugurates New EXCOs In Abia

Allied Conservative Congress (ACC), has called for Igbo Presidency of South-East extraction come 2027 polls, adding that anything to the contrary would threaten the unity of Nigeria.


The Chairman of the party, Rev. Olusegun Peters who stated this during the inauguration of Abia state executives of the party in Umuahia, decried that Igbos are yet to produce Nigeria President since the assassination of the former head of state, Gen. Johnson Aguiyi-Ironsi on 29th of July 1966.

Represented by the ACC National Vice Chairman, Northwest, Dr. Ibrahim Abdullahi, he disclosed that since the return of democracy 25 years ago, no Igbo person has occupied the number one seat of the country with Hausa and Yoruba taking at least twice.

He noted that the party stands for equity and would stop at nothing to support equity distribution of power upon the three major tribe (Igbo, Hausa and Yoruba) the country stands on.

Dr. Abdullahi who described Igbos as industrious people, expressed hope that the prevailing economic hardship in the country can be addressed by the ingenuity of an Igbo man.

Inaugurating the new Abia executives, the National party Chairman called for unity of purpose and collaboration among State Working Committee (SWC), adding that the party has the interest of all Nigerians irrespective of religious, ethnic and educational background.

In their separate remarks, the National Vice Chairman, North-Central, Hon. Illya Juan and the National Publicity Secretary of the Party, Hon. Abubakar Sadiq, congratulated the newly inaugurated executives for their steadfastness, expressing hope that they would lead the party to victory in the upcoming elections.

In his vote of thanks, the National Vice-chairman, South-East of the Party, Sir Vincent Ebelechukwu appreciated the executives for embracing ACC rebuilding project vision, promising to carry them along in their quest to transform Abia, Southeast and other regions.

Responding on behalf of the newly inaugurated Abia executives of the party, the acting State chairman of ACC, Dr. Onyekachi Uwalaka, thanked them for confidence reposed in them, adding that they would build the party and take over the governorship seat of Abia state among other electoral seats come 2027.

Other executives of the party inaugurated includes; the State Vice Chairman, Dr. Jiwuba Peter, the party Secretary, Dr. Innocent Ikoro among other principal officers.
