UEFA Champions League: It’s All English Final

Tottenham Hotspurs will face fellow English side, Liverpool in the finals of the UEFA Champions League on June 1 in Madrid, after they defeated Ajax on away goals rule.

Spurs were trailing 1-0 from the first leg. Their situation turned from bad to worse when Ajax captain de Ligt put the Dutch side ahead with a fine header after five minutes.

Thirty minutes later, the English side’s worse situation turned to worst when Ajax doubled their lead through Ziyach.

But things turned around in the second half as Lucas Moura scored a hat-trick to make the aggregate scores 3-3. The English side qualified on the away goals rule.

This will be the second time two English sides will be playing in the UEFA Champions League final. The first was in Moscow in 2008, when Manchester United defeated Chelsea on penalties.

This is the first time Tottenham Hotspurs will qualify for the UEFA Champions League final. Liverpool lost last season’s final to Real Madrid.
