U-20 Women’s World Cup: Nigeria defeat France

The Falconets of Nigeria started their challenge for the U-20 World Cup with a 1-0 victory over France.

The only goal of the match was scored by Flourish Sabastine in the 85th minute

It was a ding ding affair for most part of the game as both teams gave good account of themselves.

Heavy downpour interrupted the game after 20 minutes.

After resumption, Mexican referee, Francia Gonzales ruled out a French goal after VAR show Nigerian goalkeeper, Omini Oyono was fouled in the build up to the goal.

Nigeria will now confront South Korea in their second game on Sunday.

In some other results, Ghana lost 0-3 to USA while Japan defeated Netherlands by a lone goal.
South Korea were 2-0 better than Canada as Spain and Brazil settled their encounter goalless.
