The Rivers State Police Command has paraded two suspected fake pastors, Umoren Bassey and Elijah Anietie, who were arrested by the youth president of Rumunduru community, Henry Worlu. The suspects were found with various items, including a cartridge, sword, fake naval passport, children’s shoes, crosses, and spiritual materials. However, the police spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, denied reports that a live python and human skull were recovered from the church.

Umoren Bassey, who claims to be the pastor of God’s Deliverance Apostolic Church, alleged that the community set him up over a disputed land and that his church was searched without a warrant. He stated that the items found were used for spiritual work and that he has been helping the community for 17 years.

The youth president, Henry Worlu, stated that the community raided the church because they don’t allow “fetish things” at night and that the suspects were deceiving the masses.
