Reelected Abia NUJ Council Chairman Inducted

 

The re-elected Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists Abia State Council, Comrade Victor Ndukwe and the Secretary, Comrade Ikechukwu Onuegbu have been inducted into the National Executive Council, NEC, of the Nigeria Union of Journalists.

Inducting Comrade Ndukwe and Comrade Onuegbu alongside others across the country at the ongoing quarterly NEC meeting of the Union in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital, the National President, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Dr Chris Isiguzo charged them to show leadership in their various Councils and unite the members for effective discharge of their professional responsibilities to their states and the nation.

Dr Isiguzo while congratulating them on their emergence urged them to be good ambassadors of the union and work to improve on the good things they meet.

He encouraged Journalists to remain focused on their constitutional mandate at all times and desist from destroying the union for the sake of personal interest.

Speaking shortly after the induction, the re-elected Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists Abia State Council, Comrade Victor Ndukwe who dedicated his reelection to God appreciated Journalists across the state for the opportunity and assured of putting in his best towards uplifting the union.

He sued for the cooperation members across the state to build a formidable union irrespective of individual differences and appealed to all aggrieved members to sheet their sword in the interest of the union and profession and work with the current leadership in the state as they are prepared to work with all for the common good of members, the union and humanity.

The quarterly NEC meeting also featured the formal unveiling of the new National Secretary of the NUJ, Comrade Achike Chude whose appointment was approved by the NEC during her last sitting.
