PMAN, AGN urged to promote good image, value of Abians 

The Abia State Chapter of Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria, PMAN, as well as Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, has been urged to promote the good image and value of Abians

The Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu, who stated this when some delegates of the music and movie industries visited his office recently in Umuahia, advised the industry to promote the culture of the state through programs that will showcase Abia to limelight.

Kalu while urging them to work hard to actualised the good motives of the association, also said that the industry should be restructured in order to promote social orientation by given jingle against social vices centered around our society, added that the society wants to watch movies and listen to music that would promote Abia culture and the Nation at large.

The Information boss, disclosed that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s administration would take stronger measures to shut down insecurity and restructure Abia State.

Earlier, the Chairman of PMAN, Prince Gabriel Okorie, appealed to synergize with the state government in bringing the entertainment industry to a global limelight, while congratulating the commissioner on his reappointment.

He appealed for the platform of the aim of affairs to bring entertainment industry through the support and intervention of the state government.

Adding that the industry wants to form a synergy with the  Abia state Tourism, Arts and Culture, to take the entertainment industry to the next level.

Also speaking, the Chairman,AGN, Agbaeze Ogba said that the visit was scheduled with a sincere desire to contribute their quota to giving Abia a new name in the entertainment industry.

Ogba urged the commissioner to use his good office’s in appealing to the Governor to give them the opportunity to enable them bring global limelight to entertainment industry in the state, as well as promoting the young and upcoming actors and artists in the movie and music industries as that would also boost the Internally Generated Revenue of the state.

In a vote of thanks, an Actor, Prof, Paul Udensi, thanked the commissioner for his warm reception and pleaded that the industry be carried along in the activities of the state.
