Otti Hails Bianca Ojukwu as ‘Amazon from the East’ on Birthday

 

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has felicitated with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, on the occasion of her birthday, describing her as “an amazon from the East” whose courage, integrity and distinguished record of public service have earned her recognition as a valuable asset to the Igbo nation, Nigeria and the international community.

 

Governor Otti made the remarks in a birthday message issued on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ferdinand Ekeoma.

 

The Governor who extolled the minister’s contributions to public service and diplomacy, noted that the former Nigerian Ambassador to Spain has excelled in various fields of human endeavour.

 

He recalled Ambassador Ojukwu’s support during the political movement that culminated in his emergence as Governor of Abia State, noting that she stood by the struggle for the state’s redemption from the period he first contested the governorship election on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

 

Governor Otti further described the minister as an honest, just and courageous Nigerian who has represented womanhood with dignity and distinction.

On a day like this, I feel excited to celebrate my sister and friend, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, on the occasion of her birthday. 

 

“She is a woman of strong will and courage. An amazon from the East who has distinguished herself in many facets and continues to prove that, with courage and character, nothing is too big for any human being to accomplish”, Governor Otti said.

 

 

The governor also commended the minister’s performance since her appointment to the Federal Executive Council, saying her commitment and achievements within a relatively short period in office were already evident.

 

According to him, Ambassador Ojukwu has continued to demonstrate exceptional leadership and remains a huge asset to the Igbo nation, Nigeria and the international community.

 

 

Governor Otti urged her to continue to uphold the virtues, courage, integrity and character that have distinguished her throughout her public life and earned her widespread admiration.

He further assured the minister of his continued support as she pursues greater accomplishments in national service.

 

The governor, on behalf of his family, the Government and people of Abia State, wished Ambassador Odumegwu-Ojukwu a happy birthday and prayed for God’s continued blessings, good health and many more years of impactful service.
