Onyinye Ohuhu Lauds Sterling Qualities Of Late Lady Aguiyi Ironsi, Adanma Okpara

 

An illustrious son of Ohuhu land, Chief Raymond Onyinyechi Ofoegbu,also known as the ‘Onyinye Of Ohuhu 1’, has condoled with the entire Ohuhu land, Abia State and Nigeria at large over the death of the wives of two iconic leaders of Nigeria, Michael Okpara and Aguiyi Ironsi.

 

Interacting with newsmen in his Ofeme country home, Chief Ofoegbu lauded the exceptional qualities of the wife of the first military Head of states,Lady Victoria Aguiyi-Ironsi, as well as the wife of the late Premier of Eastern Region, Lady Adanma Okpara, describing them as virtuous women.

According to Chief Ofoegbu, these women contributed immensely to the development of Nigeria through their support and selfless service, which proved they loved Nigeria.

He stated that if Lady Aguiyi Ironsi was an evil woman, she would have made sure Nigeria remains in crisis, for loosing her husband carelessly to the nation.

The titled chief coming down to the wife of the late Premier of Eastern Nigeria, Adanma Okpara, described her as a selfless woman, who supported her husband through thick and thin, to see to it that the Eastern region was developed.

“If Lady Adanma Okpara was selfish, she would have advised her husband, the late Michael Okpara to syphone funds meant for development to their personal coffer. To further explain this, the late M.I Okpara could not build a house in his hometown, simply because he was busy developing the region.

Chief Ofoegbu disclosed that most of the development of the late Michael Okpara are the ones that are still standing today across the South East region, stressing that the Late Michael Okpara is the only leader, South East has ever produced.

“Most roads you see in Umuahia today, the Aba ceramics, Golden Guinea, were all attracted and built by the late Okpara.

“When you go to Enugu, Portharcourt, the legacies of Okpara are everywhere.His success cannot be separated from his wife.

“Ohuhu has lost an Icon,a mother and an Amazon. Our land is in serious grief”.

Chief Ofoegbu, however, condoled with the families they left behind, praying God to grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
