Sunday Megwo scored the only goal of the match as Abia Warriors defeated Bayelsa United 1-0 at the Umuahia Township Stadium in one of the week 20 matches of the Nigerian Premier Football League.
Abia Warriors had defeated Bayelsa United by a lone goal in the reverse fixture last month and have defeated their opponents home and away for the first time since 2014.
It seemed the game would produce a lot of goals when the home side opened scoring as early as the fourth minute. But, Warriors are satisfied as the lone goal gave them all the three points. This victory have temporarily moved the Umuahia side to fifth on the log pending when other week 20 matches are played.
In other matches played today, Nasarawa United disunited Katsina United by a lone goal while Enugu Rangers were humbled at home 1-2 by Niger Tornadoes.
