Ikpeazu Tasks Nigerian Army On Security

 

 

Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has tasked the Nigerian Army to live up to its responsibility of securing lives and property of citizens.

 

Governor Ikpeazu gave the charge when he received in audience the New General Officer Commanding (GOC) 82 Division of the Nigerian Army Enugu, Major General Umar Musa, at his Umuobiakwa Country Home.

 

The Governor noted that Abia was substantially safe except for a few places especially around Umunneochi and Ohafia LGAs where there have been pockets of security breaches and violent crimes.

He urged the the GOC to rise to the challenge of battling kidnapping and other forms of criminally in those areas and assured of the state government’s corporation to enable him discharge his current assignment.

 

The new GOC was accompanied by the Commander of the 14 Brigade, Ohafia, Brigadier General Adegoke Adetuyi and other senior officers.
