Humanitarian Advocate, Emmanuel Josiah Visits Family of Slain Nursing Student, Pledges Support

 

The Founder of the Evansino Humanitarian Foundation, Ambassador Emmanuel Josiah, has paid a condolence visit to the family of late Miss Wendy Achumba following her tragic death in Imo State.

Miss Wendy Achumba, a student of the College of Nursing, Umulogho in Obowo Local Government Area of Imo State, was reportedly killed in her apartment on Thursday shortly after completing her midwifery programme and while undergoing her post-basic training.

 

The incident has continued to trigger grief and emotional reactions from friends, colleagues and members of the public, many of whom described the deceased as a promising young woman whose life was cut short at a critical stage of her academic and professional journey.

 

The late student, who hailed from Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State, was born into the family of Elder Jerry Nmeregini Achumba.

 

During the condolence visit to the bereaved family, Ambassador Josiah expressed deep sympathy over the painful loss and prayed for strength and comfort for the family in the difficult period.

He also assured the family of his continued support and solidarity as they mourn the loss of their daughter.

As part of his humanitarian intervention, Josiah pledged financial assistance to support the family during the mourning period and reaffirmed his commitment to standing with families facing painful and difficult circumstances.

 

The humanitarian advocate, who is also from Obingwa Local Government Area, described the incident as heartbreaking and devastating, particularly considering the deceased’s dedication to her studies and aspirations within the medical profession.

 

The condolence visit took place at the family residence around the United Evangelical Church area in Ogbor Hill, Aba, where family members, sympathisers and loved ones had gathered in mourning over the tragic death of the young nursing student.
