Governor Alex Otti, on Thursday, and joined the Catholic faithfuls, friends, and well-wishers to celebrate the 60th birthday of the Catholic Bishop of Umuahia Diocese Most Rev. Michael Kalu Ukpong.
The event, held at the Umuahia Cathedral, attracted dignitaries, clergy, and bishops from within and outside the state who came to honor Bishop Ukpong on his celebration.
In his congratulatory message, Governor Otti expressed gratitude for the Bishop’s contributions to the spiritual and societal growth of the diocese.
The Governor also acknowledged the Bishop’s moral support, which dates back to the pre-election period, and thanked him for his prayers and wise counsel.
He prayed for God’s blessings on the celebrant, and wished him many more years of impactful service to God and humanity.
Responding, Bishop Ukpong expressed gratitude to Governor Otti for joining in the celebration and praised him for his leadership and developmental strides across the state.
Commending Governor Otti’s efforts to transform Abia, the Bishop said, “Your Excellency, you are doing well”.
