Bende mayor delivers new sports complex to his council

In an effort to catch them young, nurture and to develop the sporting talents of the younger generation of Bende people, the mayor of Bende Local Government Area in Abia State, Barrister Chijioke Nwankwo has built a Multi-Purpose sporting complex in the council headquarters.

The newly built sports complex boasts of volleyball court, handball court and badminton court.

Barrister Nwankwo said that he built the sporting complex following Gov. Otti’s tradition in resuscitating inter secondary schools sports activities in the state.

“This initiative aims to provide local youths, particularly secondary school students in Bende LGA, with a venue to train and develop their talents in sports”

“Besides this, sports recently has become parts of global business that if we develop talents in different areas of sports, they will earn money to support the economy and development of the state” Nwankwo further stated.

Meanwhile, Governor Alex Otti in his April media chart with journalists in the state said that he will continue to support the mayors to develop our rural areas.
